Let’s talk about it.
You’ve been on Mounjaro.
Maybe Ozempic.
Maybe you’ve lost a significant amount of weight.
Spring / Summer is around the corner and you’re standing in front of your wardrobe thinking…
“None of this works anymore.”
And here’s the interesting thing.
People assume that personal styling is something you book when you’re unhappy with your body. When you’ve put on weight. When you don’t feel confident.
Hand on my heart, this past year we’ve seen the opposite.
We’ve had more clients come to us after they’ve lost the weight they wanted to.
And that’s new.
Because what the weight loss jabs have done — whether it’s Mounjaro or Ozempic — is create quite a sudden transformation. This isn’t a slow, gradual shift over three years. For many people, it happens quickly.
And suddenly…
Your jeans fall down.
Your blazers swamp you.
Your dresses hang differently.
Your entire wardrobe feels disconnected from who you are now.
So do we need a wardrobe edit?
Honestly? Not really.
If you’ve lost a lot of weight, most of it probably doesn’t fit properly anyway. It’s not about “saving” pieces anymore.
What we need to do is rebuild.
And if I’m working with someone who’s been on weight loss injections, I insist on starting with colour analysis first.
Why?
Because losing weight — especially in the face — can sometimes make you look a little more shadowy. A little more gaunt. A little less vibrant than when your face was fuller.
And that’s not talked about enough.
The right colours will lift your face.
They’ll brighten your smile.
They’ll soften shadows.
They’ll stop you looking tired.
When your face is changing, colour becomes even more important.
So we start there.
Then we look at your body shape.
And this is the bit I bang on about all the time — it has never been about your size. It’s about your shape.
People think, “I’ve lost the weight, I can wear anything now.”
No.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
I’m petite and hourglass. I can tell you now, 70–80% of what’s in stores doesn’t work on me — and I’m small. Size has nothing to do with it.
If you don’t understand your proportions, your vertical line, your waist definition, your balance — you’ll still feel frustrated in a changing room, even at a smaller size.
So after weight loss, what we really need to understand is:
- What is your new shape?
- What are your best colours?
- How do we build a capsule wardrobe that actually works for this version of you?
Because this stage should feel exciting.
You’re trying on sizes you’ve wanted to try for years.
You’re rediscovering your body.
You’re stepping into a new season — literally and metaphorically.
And styling at this point isn’t about “fixing” you.
It’s about celebrating you.
Your new shape.
Your new confidence.
Your new chapter.
Weight loss might change your body.
But understanding your colour and shape?
That’s what makes you look fantastic and feel great!
